APOCALYPTICA Performs At Finland's 'Emma Gaala'; Video Available
March 9, 2008Finnish metal cellists APOCALYPTICA were accompanied by pop singer Hanna Pakarinen for their performance of the song "S.O.S. (Anything but Love)" at this year's Emma Gaala (Finnish Grammy equivalent),which was held last night (Saturday, March 8) at Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki.
Footage of the performance, which was broadcast on the Finnish channel YLE TV2 (along with the rest of the awards ceremony),can be viewed below.
Pakarinen is a Finnish pop singer who was the first winner of Finnish national TV talent competition "Idols" in 2004.
Hanna is most famous for participating in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 although she is well known in Finland and the majority of continental Europe.
APOCALYPTICA's new album, "Worlds Collide", will be released in the U.S. on April 15. The CD, which entered the Finnish chart at position No. 8 and also landed on both the German and Swiss charts at No. 10, was made available in standard and "deluxe" versions, the latter of which is described as "truly a work of art both in its artwork and its content." The "deluxe" edition contains two bonus tracks — "Ural" and "Dreamer" — as well as a DVD. The DVD contains the "I'm Not Jesus" video along with the "making of" footage, plus an interview from the listening session in Berlin and a photo gallery.
"Worlds Collide" features guest appearances by Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR),Till Lindemann (RAMMSTEIN),Cristina Scabbia (LACUNA COIL),Dave Lombardo (SLAYER),and Adam Gontier (THREE DAYS GRACE).
The version of "S.O.S. (Anything but Love)" that appears on "Worlds Collide" features vocals by Cristina Scabbia (LACUNA COIL).
